HAPPY TURKEY DAY!

iTUNES ALL CRACKED UP
Jon Lech Johansen, 19, of Norway has hacked his way around Apple's MPEG-4 protection scheme for iTunes music. You may remember him as the guy who cracked the MPAA's DeCSS protection algorithm for DVDs. His latest accomplishment legally plays the music in Quicktime, while a program running in parallel captures unlocked data, producing a perfectly identical copy. He has made the program available as open-source freeware. His feat underscores the problem with digital copyright measures - as soon as someone comes up with a new protection algorithm, the hackers come right back to beat it.

IS THIS THE PLAYSTATION 3?

THE GIZ seems to think so.
