MOORE SPEED
Intel announced their smallest chip yet, based on a 65-nanometer fabrication process. Although the chip will not be available to the public until around 2005, the advance provides continued impetus for Moore's Law which states that chip speeds double roughly every two years. For Intel, the advance means more efficient manufacturing; for the consumer, faster processors and memory.

PUSHERS, BEWARE OF... ROBOT?
Engineers at Georgia Tech have developed a machine that can "smell" drugs. While it has certain advantages over dogs, don't look for it to replace canines any time soon. After all, canines can catch a frisbee... could Aibo have a future as a Robo-Cop?
