SATURDAY SHOW EDITION

MORE SP2 WOES

Word from REDMOND is that SP2 may think it's all that, but it's not. Turns out that the new XP Service Pack 2 has a few bugs. And Microsoft is saying that 15% of all computers will have trouble with SP2. And it installs in AUTOUPDATE. Which bites. Always set XP to ask you if you want the latest updates and then, before you download this 270 MB file (!) it's best to set a restore point. If you have trouble, search your hard drive for this file: sp2uninst.exe and run it.

KAL-EE-FORNIA GARAGE SALE
Latest on eBay is the CALIFORNIA GARAGE SALE! The state of California is having a garage sale on eBay to raise money for the government. Bidders can buy tools, routers, cool cars like a 95 Ford Mustang GT, and even an autographed poster from the Governator. Search for username californiagold2000.

COME FOR THE IPOD, STAY FOR THE EDUCATION

Seeing the trends of college students, Duke University is now giving away FREE IPODS (and it isn't a scam) to it's students!

Students can use them to record and listen to lectures, capture scientific data and play language-training recordings.

Oh, and there's that mp3 thing.

No word on if the RIAA is getting ready to wage war the campus. But the student's tuition is there's for the taking, so most likely. BEWARE.

KEEPING DRY AND LIGHT - BLADERUNNER STYLE

We first saw them in BladeRunner, now you can buy them! Bright Night Lighted Umbrella's. This idea is so basic, E-R wonders why it took 20 years for someone to actually produce them for the masses.

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

Who needs DOOM 3 when you can land on the moon with EAGLE LANDER 3D. It's even been tested by Apollo 17 Commander Gene Cernan.

And for serious Apollo geeks, there's the Apollo Virtual AGC which emulates the Apollo Guidance Computer. It's not a game simulator, but E-R thinks it's rippin' cool that someone emulated this piece of spaceflight, and computer, history.
