SUPPORT FAIR USE!

Like those of us at E-R, video recording has been a godsend to our busy lives. Well, currently, legislation is being pushed through the Senate that would change all that. Called the INDUCE Act, it would revoke fair use rights which were upheld in the so-called BETAMAX DECISION. That decision (Sony vs. Universal) allowed for the home recording of television programs on video cassette recorders.

Studios - seeing that there is a market for DVDs of TV Series, are once again trying to overturn the right of home recording with digital recording devices.

And you can bet this guy has his fingerprints all over it.

Savebetamax.org is organizing a "National Call-In Day" to contact members of Congress on Tuesday, September 14: http://www.savebetamax.org/
